Parker Pops 3 HomerunsReported by: Detroit Daily DumpHometown paper of the: Chesters Lemonheads, owned by Eric Leach Posted on Aug 22 at 2023 ET DETROIT, MI (SAP): Dave Parker had himself a record opening day for Chester's Lemonheads with 3 homeruns. Parker didn't stop there as he ended the day 4-4 with his other hit being a double and tallied 6 RBI. Parker wasn't the only Lemonhead to get the season started on offense as Dusty Baker also had a homerun on his 4-5 night. The offense all told put up 12 runs on 13 hits and they were needed as starter Figueroa didn't make it to the 4th inning giving up 4 earned runs on 6 hits and 5 walks. The bullpen was fantastic as Lanford and Johnson each went 3 innings of no run baseball. The Lemonheads again take the field tonight against the Orphans and look to continue the hot offensive start. |
Lemonheads looking to squeeze the juice of youth movementReported by: Detroit Daily DumpHometown paper of the: Chesters Lemonheads, owned by Eric Leach Posted on Aug 15 at 2023 ET DETROIT, MI (SAP): The draft is over, and the roster is set for the 1st year manager of the Lemonheads. It’s clear that new G.M. wanted to go with a youth movement as the team’s active roster has no one over the age of 30. “We’re banking on the young guys stepping up and making a huge impact right out of the gate” Said manager Dynamite Jones. G.M. Leach said he likes the well roundedness of the Lemonheads roster. “We have 3 pitchers with 16 wins, 3 players with over 20 home runs, 4 guys with over 20 steals, and some really good on base guys. The expectations are that if we’re not in the playoffs, we should be in a pennant race as the season concludes. If not, Jones might be getting things blown up. |

McCovey denounces Hall of FameReported by: Tornado Alley WhirlwindHometown paper of the: Beavertown Eh?s, owned by steve sturm Posted on Apr 24 at 2015 ET ST. LOUIS (SAP): The Muttonchops have a proud history of not being "joiners". They went to the world series last year as one of two teams without a hall of famer and they intended to make another run without one this year as well. However, when McCovey was still on the board when their turn in the first round came up, they were faced with a decision. The Muttonchops had planned to take Darrell Evans, another player with a better career than several hall of famers to add to their core of Grich, Simmons, John, Kaat and Reuschel. However, when Evans went off the board right before their pick, they had to make a call to McCovey, who was all too eager to comply. McCovey had always felt guilty about being in the hall ahead of those other guys purely on the basis of his home run total. When reached for comment, McCovey said: "Are you kidding me? Grich has more WAR than me and he played 5 fewer years with 3200 fewer plate appearances. Of course he should be in ahead of me! John and Kaat have more WAR than me too. Everyone knows I'm only in because I excelled in one stat. Its not just the chicks but the sportswriters who love the long ball! I'm happy to play with these guys. They're among the greatest players of my generation and far better than Jim Rice and Tony Perez, who apparently had better PR". |

Steamers manager Lenny Olson says " it doesn't matter how deflated his balls really are, our team won the series and its time to look ahead to the next round". So what next? The league office will take steps to confirm the report. The source says the real only way to do this is for the League commissioner to get his hands on Ashe's balls and feel for any abnormalities. |
